    TenCate Outdoor Fabrics is to supply Rent-a-Tent - as the first camping tour operator -  with digitally printed tent cloth for bungalow tents that will be rented to camping enthusiasts across Europe. At the Camping by Night event during the 2015 Vakantiebeurs (Holiday Trade Fair), which is being held this week in Utrecht (NL), consumers can already become acquainted with more colour for characterful camping.     The Province of Overijssel has granted a €1.5 million development subsidy to a consortium headed by TenCate for the innovation centre The Factory of the Future. The size of the project amounts to approximately €6 million. The objective of the project is to make the production of advanced TenCate materials, such as protective fabrics, even more efficient, sustainable and smart, in what is known as smart production. Apart from initiator TenCate, Theo Rietkerk, a member of the Provincial Executive of Overijssel, has consistently done his utmost in recent years to promote this groundbreaking technological innovation in the manufacturing industry in the Eastern Netherlands, which is of great importance for the regional economy and direct and indirect employment.

    Sunday 6 April, German chancellor Angela Merkel officially opened the Hannover Messe. Theme of the world’s largest industrial trade fair is the 'Fourth Industrial Revolution’.   • Royal Ten Cate puts first digital inkjet machine into operation

    On Monday 1 July textile technology company Royal Ten Cate introduced the first production machine for digital finishing on the basis of inkjet technology. Theo Rietkerk, member of the Provincial Executive of Overijssel for Economy, Energy and Innovation, activated the machine at the company site of TenCate Protective & Outdoor Fabrics in Nijverdal, the Netherlands. Operation of this new machine marks the official transition from analogue to digital finishing of technical textiles.
